Banbury Innovation Award 2011
The winner of the award was Paul Fowler of Enstone Flying Club. His grand scheme is to build from scratch a squadron of 12 replica Spitfire aircraft and assemble a corps of flying and ground crew to fly the planes at airshows all over the world.
He hopes the planes will be in the air as early as next year. It’s a scheme he wants local people to come and get involved in too.
Other highly commended entrants include high tech game developer 'Silver Fish', a grandmother who has invented a new educational toy and a 74 year old gentleman who has invented a new way of moving chairs around in his church hall.
Prizes were presented by Banbury MP Tony Baldry at the Whately Hall Hotel.
