Police seek witnesses after woman robbed in Bicester

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed in Bicester.

The 22-year-old was walking along the footpath adjacent to Mallard's Way leading onto London Road at around 11.50am last Wednesday (5 June), when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her bag.

During the struggle, the offender punched the victim in the face twice before running off in the direction of Langford Village, past the stone circles.

The woman's purse was stolen but later recovered.

The offender is described as a white man, aged between 16 and 22 years old with short, dark brown hair and freckles on his face. He was wearing a white t-shirt and a blue hooded top.

The victim sustained bruising to her face but did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer PC Darren Hall, based at Banbury police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information that could assist us with the investigation to please come forward."

Anyone with information can report it by calling 101 and quoting reference 43190168671, or by making a report to Thames Valley Police online.
