Man and woman convicted of money laundering

A man and woman have been jailed for money laundering offences linked to a Brackley murder.

42 year old Simon Atherton (pictured), and his 40-year-old partner Amanda Butler, both of Brackley, have been convicted of stealing drugs and cash from the scene of Gus Davies' murder in June.

They appeared before the court charged with acquiring, using and possessing criminal property.

Atherton, who was also charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs, was jailed for six years and Butler was sentenced to three months.

On Monday, Robert Field, aged 22, pleaded guilty to Mr Davies' murder. He will be sentenced at a date to be fixed in the next few weeks.
