Appeal after car mounts kerb to escape police.

Banbury Police want to speak to witnesses after a car sped away from officers and drove at pedestrians as it mounted the kerb.

The vehicle failed to stop on Woodgreen Avenue and then went along Edmunds Road and Bretch Hill towards Wroxton.

A 28 year old man arrested in connection with what happened at around midday on January the 31st was due to answer police bail today.

Investigating officer, PC Daniel Hopkins, based at Banbury police station said: “I am appealing to anybody who was in the vicinity of Woodgreen Avenue, Edmunds Road or Bretch Hill at the time of this incident who has any information which they think could be relevant to our investigation.

“Please call the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 43190032766.”
