Chipping Norton and Brackley miss out on Portas cash

Chipping Norton and Brackley have missed out on a share of a million pounds of government money to boost high street trade.

Both towns are not on a list of winners revealed today, as part of the government's Portas Pilot scheme, which would have brought shopping expert Mary Portas to the area.

However Chipping Norton traders say the campaign has had a positive impact by making everyone work together.
